Kenner 6" Action Figures[]

Kenner, a subsidiary of Hasbro, produced a line of toys to release alongside the Small Soldiers film.

The core set of this toy line was based on the Gorgonites and Commando Elite as seen in the film, in a roughly 6-inch scale. This includes:

  • Chip Hazard, with Firing Combat Blaster! - Includes a large handgun, an arm-mounted rocket launcher with spring-launching action, and one red rocket projectile.
  • Brick Bazooka, Converts into Giant Missile Launcher! - Includes a machine gun and one missile projectile.
  • Nick Nitro, with Launching Duel Missile Pack!
  • Archer, with Arrow-Strike Crossbow!
  • Slamfist - Includes a club and detachable boulder-hand.
  • Insaniac, with Spin-Fury Battle Action! - Includes Miniac mini-figure, a spiked ball and chain with a cuff, and a chain with two cuffs.
  • Punch-It, with firing assault cannon. Includes back-mounted catapult and wrist-mounted claw. Due to their method of production, every Punch-It figure features unique skin marbling.
  • Freakenstein
  • Flatchoo, with Launching Wart Attack! Includes Nibble mini-figure, giant battle axe, and one wart projectile.

Notable omissions from this range are Ocula, Scratch-It (not bundled with Punch-It), Butch Meathook, Kip Killigan, and Link Static; made all the stranger from the inclusion of non-Gorgonite Flatchoo, and original characters "Miniac" and "Nibble". Furthermore, the Brick Bazooka figure features a "cannon form" not seen in the film, which would have been more suited to the "Battle Changing" set.

A number of spin-off sets were also released, featuring the characters in forms not seen in the film, such as "Battle Changing", "Battle Damaged", vehicles, and a few one-off forms. Including these more fantastical designs, there remains no figures of Butch Meathook, Link Static, a standalone Ocula (not part of a vehicle), or an undamaged Troglokhan.

Kenner 12" Action Figures[]

There were two lines of 12-inch figures from Kenner; one featured a Chip Hazard doll with fabric clothing and a crossbow-firing Archer, and the other featured Chip and Archer with electronic lights and sounds. This includes:

  • Chip Hazard, Includes Firing Missing Launcher! - Includes fabric clothes, a handgun, an underarm minigun with spring-launching rocket launcher, two grenades, and a knife.
  • Archer, Includes Firing Crossbow!
  • Talking Chip Hazard with punching action; electronic lights & sounds.
  • Talking Archer with punching action; electronic lights & sounds.

Two variants of the electronic Chip Hazard were produced during the toy line's run: one using voice lines by Tommy Lee Jones, and the other voiced by an unknown actor. It is possible this revision occurred due to the original version speaking the line "All Gorgonite scum must die!", which may have received negative feedback from parents.[citation needed]

Promotional Toys[]

Burger King Promotion[]

As a promotional tie-in for the film's release, Burger King included one from a set of twelve toys with their children's meals. Each small toy featured a unique gimmick, including:

  • Chip Hazard - An articulated figure with a hinged breastplate, revealing light-up "electronics" beneath.
  • 'Morning Break' Brick Bazooka - An unarticulated, four-wheeled vehicle designed from an electric whisk and a toaster, with Brick at the controls. Pressing the loaded toast revs a friction motor for the rear wheels, propelling the toy forward, and in turn rotating the whisk.
  • Nick Nitro - An articulated figure with a pull-string backpack, which causes his arms and legs to pop off when pulled.
  • 'Butch's Battle' - A barely articulated, three-wheeled "vehicle" of Freakenstein riding on Butch Meathook's back. Turning the key winds a motor, which upon release spins the rear wheels, propelling the toy forward while animating Butch's arms and legs up and down, as though flailing.
  • 'Rip Roaring' Kip Killigan - A unarticulated, two-wheeled vehicle of Kip riding a motorcycle. Pulling the exhaust revs a friction motor for the rear wheel, propelling the toy forward.
  • 'Crawling' Link Static - An unarticulated figure lying prone, with a hinged backpack concealing a small storage space. Turning the key winds a motor that gyrates his lower half, pushing the toy forward as though crawling.
  • 'Freedom Firing' Archer - A barely articulated figure with a spring-loaded crossbow, capable of firing a light-up arrow attached by string.
  • 'Soft and Cuddly' Slamfist - A stuffed plush with two printed sides and no dimension.
  • 'Bobbling' Insaniac - An articulated figure with a three-wheeled base it can attach to. Pushing the base rotates the connector to the figure and the plate it is on, spinning the figure in an erratic manner.
  • 'Laughing' Insaniac - An articulated figure with a crankable arm, which causes him to produce a revving chitter sound (ostensibly simulating laughter).
  • 'Boulder Blasting' Punch-It and Scratch-It - A barely articulated figure of both characters, where Scratch-It acts as a catapult on Punch-It's shoulders, launching a square 'boulder' held in her mouth.
  • 'Levitating Lens' Ocula - A figure with a poseable wire armature and suction cups on its feet

Trivia[]

  • Two prototypes have surfaced after the line was cancelled one being a battle changing Chip Hazard and the other being an Archer with a opening mouth gimmick it is unclear what this one is called.[citation needed]
  • A 29 inch tall Archer exists it is unclear how the figure would come to be but it was probably either for a fan club and was probably do the fact Archer was a fan favorite.[citation needed]
  • The only characters to never get figures are the human characters this might be due to their likeness but in books and other media they were shown but the toy line must have been made before the film was completed or only the Gorgonites and Commando Elite were probably more marketable.
  • Archer is missing his crossbow on his right arm in the six inch one it could be due to the fact the six inch one has a big crossbow that shoots missals instead of arrows.
  • Troglokhan toy has two play functions being swop his left arm and leg and his club can move by a button on his back.
